Terrel Joseph, MD

Dr. Joseph is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but really feels at home in the mountains at Vail. Dr. Joseph specializes in hand surgery and sports medicine.

Prior to starting his medical training, Dr. Joseph lived in the Vail Valley and became an avid whitewater kayaker and rafting guide.

"Joining Vail-Summit Orthopaedics was a goal of mine for many years. In the summer of 1996, before starting medical school, I worked at VSO as a medical researcher. I knew then that, even with years of training ahead of me, working with the best orthopaedic practice in the heart of the Rockies was what I wanted to do. It was quite an amazing journey getting back here from Ecuador, Louisiana, New Zealand and New Mexico, but well worth it."

Returning to Vail, Dr. Joseph is thrilled to be minutes away from the whitewater chutes on the Eagle River. He enjoys both training and breeding Labradors and, when he isn't in the operating room, he enjoys the parallel challenges of home remodeling and designing and working with stained glass.
