A Letter To Patients of VSON Alpine - From Dr. Gloria Beim

Dear Patients, Providers, & Members of the Community:

In 1996, I opened Alpine Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine with the goal of providing the Gunnison Valley with the best orthopaedic care possible. Ten years later, I opened Alpine Surgery Center to offer patients a superior surgical experience.

Today, I am thrilled to announce that these services will soon be even better.

Today (9/1/21), Alpine Orthopaedics merged with the Eagle/Summit County-based orthopaedic group, Vail-Summit Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery (VSON).

At present, VSON is comprised of two interventionalists, one neurosurgeon, and eight orthopaedic and sports medicine surgeons, each of whom practices at the top of his specialty.

I will be the 12th provider to join the VSON team and the group’s first female physician-surgeon. Along with my Physician Assistants, Amy Sandusky and Julia Stock, and new physician Dr. Adam Lindsay, I will continue to see patients in the Crested Butte, Gunnison, and Telluride clinics that I love so much.

To say that I am both honored and thrilled about this opportunity is an understatement.

With existing locations in Granby, Frisco, Vail, and Edwards – and now Gunnison, Crested Butte, and Telluride – VSON is the premier orthopaedic group dedicated to the care of Colorado’s mountain communities.

My search for a group with whom to share and build upon my skills and experience has taken place over several years now, both locally and regionally.

It was imperative to me that the group I join be comprised of highly trained physicians who share my philosophy of working tirelessly in the best interests of patients. I needed them to be conservative in their approach to treatment, to practice evidence-based medicine, and to participate in the research and development of innovative surgical and recovery techniques.

It was also critical to me that the group I join love and support their communities the same way I have mine over the past 25 years.

Paramount to my Business Director, the group also had to share our philosophy around who we want to be as an organization and the kind of culture we want to create for our employees. We feel certain that we have found the perfect partner in VSON.

By teaming up with VSON, we will be able to bring to the Gunnison Valley resources and services that are not currently offered. We look forward to bringing spine care and hip arthroscopy to the Valley, for example, as well as outpatient joint replacements.

We also remain committed to working collaboratively with Gunnison Valley Health and our local providers to ensure that patient needs are met by the most qualified physicians possible.

Thank you tremendously for supporting me and Alpine Orthopaedics over the past 25 years. Please know that I remain deeply committed to serving this community and I am beyond excited to offer Gunnison Valley even more and better services as we move forward. Truly, the best is yet to come.
