Rayanne Harris joined VSON in 2015 and is Vail-Summit Orthopaedic & Neurosurgery's Urgent Care primary healthcare provider. She’s specialty-trained in orthopaedics, with a bachelor’s in nursing from Johns Hopkins University.

Prior to joining VSON, Rayanne trained with wilderness education leader NOLS at the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center, worked in a family practice that treated Summit County employees, and  served as a family nurse practitioner in Fairplay, Colorado.

Rayanne's philosophy of care involves giving patients a say in their treatment, ensuring they can get back to the activities they love safely and efficiently.

Our orthopaedic urgent care is more convenient and cost-effective than visiting the ER. Get care from our top orthopaedic surgeons and avoid the hassle and extra cost of an ER visit. We treat common orthopaedic injuries and problems, such as:

  • Acute pain such as sudden back pain without traumatic injury.

  • Cuts and lacerations.

  • Closed fractures or possible fractures.

  • Sprains or strains.

  • Minor dislocations such as fingers and toes. (Hip and shoulder dislocations should go to ER.)

  • Cast or wound dressing problems.

  • Painful, swollen or injured joints such as knees, elbows, and shoulders.

  • Sports injuries: knee, shoulder, and foot and ankle injuries.

With VSON Orthopaedic Urgent Care, you get access to the same docs that Vail & Summit County have trusted for over 30+ years. Our team is fully equipped to give you the specialty care you need to get back to doing what you love.

How Our Summit County Urgent Care Works

VSON’s Urgent Care offers a continuum of care: from diagnosis to recovery. This ensures our patients can return to their daily activities as soon as possible. Here's how it works:

  1. Visit: Our urgent care is open until 7pm, every night. You can walk in at any time and receive treatment for an orthopaedic injury.

  2. Evaluation: A orthopaedics-trained healthcare professional will evaluate you. If needed, a VSON orthopaedic physician will be contacted to provide a consultation. Our Urgent Care facility has on-site x-rays, MRIs and ultrasounds.

  3. Treatment: Once the injury is diagnosed, patients will receive immediate treatment. All suturing, joint reductions, casting, and wound care is provided on-site.

  4. Follow Up: After your urgent care visit, we will schedule follow-up appointments are with appropriate orthopaedic subspecialists. Depending upon the severity of the injury, some patients will meet their surgeon the day they walk in for a diagnosis.

VSON Urgent Care is open late to provide convenient care. If your busy schedule doesn't allow for daytime appointments, you can take advantage of our later hours and weekend openings: open until 7 p.m. every day of the week.
