The Vail-Summit Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery Docs were on hand at the vaunted Birds of Prey race. Taking place at Beaver Creek, Birds of Prey is one of the premier ski races on the Men's World Cup Series.
While the World's top racers such as Beat Feuz, Askel Svindal, and Steve Nyman vied for wins, we did see a few crashes, with Germany's Thomas Dressen seeing his season ended after catching an edge and crashing during the men's downhill. Unfortunately, Dressen suffered injuries to his knee and shoulder. We wish him a fast recovery!
Overall, it was a great weekend for the sport of skiing, and the enormous turnout at the race is a testament to the growing global appeal of alpine ski racing.
Supporting Local Media
We are lucky to have some fantastic media outlets in the Vail Valley, and this year VSO sponsored the official radio broadcast of the race, as well as local television coverage.
Here are some of the interviews with our docs that aired this weekend! Enjoy!
