On Friday, January 18th, Dr. Cafferky welcomed some of his former patients to Lionshead Village in Vail for an epic day of skiing fresh powder, followed by a delicious luncheon and lively conversation.

"We are seeing patients get back to very high activity levels. I'm happy to be an integral part of the journey." -Dr. Nathan Cafferky

As amazing as the snow was, it was even more inspiring to see total joints patients out there enjoying a sport they love. More proof that full recovery from a hip or knee replacement has become the norm.

"It takes hard work and dedication to return full strength after surgery, and people are doing it every day," said, Dr. Cafferky. "We are seeing patients get back to very high activity levels. I'm happy to be an integral part of the journey of returning them to skiing and all the other activities they love to do."

The event was co-sponsored by Vail Health, Howard Head Sports Medicine, and The Steadman clinic.

Meet Dr. Nathan Cafferky

"As someone who grew up skiing, mountain biking, trail running, hiking, and camping, I am excited to be able to move my family to communities that enjoy and value these same activities. One of the most enjoyable things for me to do now is to teach my kids the enjoyment of a healthy and active outdoor lifestyle.

The mountain communities are unique in that, as a physician, my patients enjoy the same activities as I do. I enjoy working closely with my patients to help them get back on their feet, so that they can get back to enjoying the activities that brought them to live in the mountains."
